Etimoe is often called "african rosewood", although it is not a true rosewood botanically it is still very rich in color. This species has a mild grain pattern with small dark streaks. This wood often looks very similar to bubinga. This tree is not always used for lumber products since it can also be tapped to produce rubber, the most common use this species.
